Student Breakfast & Lunches will be available during Shut Down

On March 11, 2020, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), Division of Food and Nutrition (DFN), received waiver approval from the USDA that allows schools closed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) to serve meals to students through the Summer Food Service Program in a non- congregate setting.   

 

On March 13th, 2020 Governor Tom Wolf announced that all K-12 Pennsylvania schools will be closed for 10 business days effective Monday, March 16th, 2020

 

The Scranton School District, in conjunction with the Aramark Education Services will make available free bagged breakfast and lunch to all children under the age of 18 years old.  Meals will be available Monday March 16th to March 20th and March 23rd to March 27th at the following locations,

McNichols Plaza Elementary

John Whittier Elementary

John Adams Elementary

John F Kennedy Elementary

Charles Sumner Elementary

Robert Morris Elementary

Frances Willard Elementary

George Bancroft Elementary

William Prescott Elementary

Neil Armstrong Elementary

Isaac Tripp Elementary

West Scranton Intermediate 

South Scranton Intermediate

Scranton High School

West Scranton High School 

Breakfast will be available: 7:30 AM-9:00 AM

Lunch will be available: 11:00 AM-1:00 PM

 

Meals will be served at the front door of each school.  In accordance with the USDA waiver policy of non congregate setting children will not be allowed to remain on school property after delivery of the bagged meals.
